9.3. Republic Day

9.3.1. Society for Social Ventures celebrated Republic Day with nomadic slum community consisting of Nut, Gehare, Sapperey etc coming from all parts of India to settle here for earning their livelihood through begging, rag picking, sculpturing, selling ayurvedic medicine, honey and selling utensils in return of old clothes.

Year: 26th January 2014

Place: Slums located at Mangal Pandey Nagar, Meerut City.

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: Around 30-40 women, men, youth, children were made aware of the importance of the day. National flags were distributed. National Anthem was sung & patriotic slogans like Vande Matram. Bharat Mata ki Jai etc were shouted by Senior members and youth of the community. Sweets were distributed to them in the end.

9.3.2. Society for Social Ventures celebrated Republic Day with nomadic slum community enthusiastically in their plastics- bamboo built shelters under heavy shower, mud and muddy water. They were motivated to improve their socio-economic condition by attaining good education & earning sustainable livelihood.

Place: Slum located at Mangal Pandey Nagar,Meerut City

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: Around 100 women, men, youth, children gathered, though not aware of the importance of Republic day, Community gave the message that they have right to live. National Anthem was sung, patriotic slogans (sare jahan sey achha, Vande matram, Bharat Mata ki Jai) were shouted, Sweets were distributed.

9.3.3. Society for Social Venture, Meerut as Professional Training Associate, Multi Disciplinary Training Center, Panjokhara, Shamli organized Republic Day among unemployed youth above age 16yrs on the subject “Women Empowerment” महिला सशक्तिकरण.

Place: Kuller Colony, Village Jungethi, Block Rohta, District Meerut

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: Message “Self employment for Economic empowerment by developing Vocational skills to generate income in order to develop a healthy society free from unemployment” delivered among 90 youth (Males & females)

9.3.4. Society for Social Venture, Meerut as Partner NGO of CBCI-CARD Delhi organized Republic Day on Theme of “टी बी पर विजय,टी बी मुक्त गांव है अपना लक्ष्य” mobilizing, sensitizing and advocating village on TB care & control and provide support to free their village from this Disease.

Place: Shiv Mandir, Village Bisola, Block Mawana, District Meerut

Resource Personnel: Mr Omkar Singh Chautala (Divisional President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Meerut), Rampal Singh, Pravindra Kumar,Lokendra Kumar, Harveer Singh,Ajab Singh,Lakkhi Ram Saini, Prakash Gupta from village & Sunita Goel, Harish Saini from SSV

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: Approx 60-70 villagers, ASHAs, Aganwadi Workers & Assistants were sensitized on symptoms, causes, prevention, free sputum testing by nearest DMC and free DOTS treatment by Govt Hospitals to control and eradicate TB from the village. Village Community took oath to constitute healthy society free from TB diseases

9.3.5. Society for Social Venture, Meerut organized Republic Day with village community on the subject “Berojgari- Samasya aur Samadhan” बेरोजगारी-समस्या और समाधान . Self employment is the right option to fight againt unemployment. According to the interest & skills, unemployeds can start their own small business to earn livelihood.

Resource Personnel: Gram Pradhan Sunil Kumar, Sunita Goel (Chief Functionary SSV) along with Volunteers Robin Singh , Mahendra Singh ,Bittoo etc.

Place: Panchayat Bhawan , Village Kinnanagar, Block Rajpura, Dist. Meerut

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: Around 8o villagers attended the function. Message “Self employment instead of remaining being unemployed was delivered”. Lots of Competition to be faced for getting govt or private jobs. Various financial institution including Khadi Gramodyog Ayog have the provision of providing loans to unemployed to start their own units.

9.3.6. Society for Social Venture, Meerut organized Republic Day with the villagers on the subject “Berojgari- Samasya aur Samadhan” बेरोजगारी-समस्या और समाधान . Self employment is better option to be self reliant .Develop skill as per need & demand of the Market to establish small income generating units by taking loans from financial Institutions

Place: Panchayat Bhawan , Village Kinnanagar, Block Rajpura, Dist. Meerut

Resource Personnel: Gram Pradhan Sunil Kumar, Social Worker Kavita, Sunita Goel (Chief Functionary SSV) along with Volunteers Robin Singh, Sonam Singh, Mahendra Singh, Geeta Singh, Aditya, Abhishekh, Sagar, Kuldeep, Bhura, Bunty, Mohit Kumar,Praveen Kumar & Brahampal etc.

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: More than 100 Villagers including Women, Men attended the function enthusiastically with full of patriotism. Youth & Children raised patriotic slogans and danced on patriotic songs to create a patriotic atmosphere. They received the message of self employment by developing skill for income generation for economic empowerment.

9.3.7. Society for Social Ventures celebrated Republic Day with the spirit of national unity, integrity, secularism and communal harmony on theme “Hundreds of salutes to the brave martyrs of India” भारत के शहीदों को शत् शत् नमन.

Year: 26th January 2022

Place: House of Past Pradhan Mohd Ashraf, Village Jasori, Block Kharkhauda, District Meerut

Resource Personnel: Imam Maulana Ghaffar, Mohd Ashraf (Past Pradha) , Munshi Mahfuz, Kari Waris, Sunita Goel (SSV) with volunteers Sahnumma, Neha Pal, Kaif, Hashmi, Wasim.

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: Freedom fighters, brave hearts (sons & daughters) were remembered .It was told that on this day India’s Constitution came into force & India became a fully republican country.Around 200 villagers including Women, Men, Aganwadi workers& Aganwadi Assistants were present . School children created glorious atmosphere by presenting dance on patriotic songs.

9.3.8. Society for Social Ventures celebrated Republic Day, Basant Panchami & Leprosey Prevention Day 2023 among leprosy affected people and slum dwellers on the subject “Social Aspect & Rehabilitation of leprosy affected & poverty stricken slum people” कुष्ठ प्रभावित व्यक्तियों का समाजिक पहलू एवं पुनर्वास.

Place: Shri Vivekananda Kushth Ashram & slum near Railway Line, Hapur Gate, Delhi Road, Meerut City

Resource Personnel: Sunita Goel (Chief Functionary SSV) along with State Tax Officers, Usha Verma & Meenakshi, Dinesh Chaudhary, Pooja and Pawan

Targeted Group / Beneficiary: Approximately 125 women, men, youth and children were distributed refreshment & were made aware about their fundamental rights, education, economic issues related to employment & rehabilitation so that they can improve social & economic status to join the main stream of the society. All the participants participated enthusiastically, making sure that they also have the right to live.
